The characters and scenes in this graphic novel were created by manipulating the forms contained within Juan Gris' cubist painting "Breakfast". The entire work was modeled on the computer and the playful nature of this project, a form of Malevich meets Marvel Comics, is in opposition to the more production-driven role of the computer in architecture. site 2 The painting, initially a relatively arbitrary selection, was appropriated to unsettle and reinvigorate current spatial conception. Selected forms within the painting were projected, folded and spun to generate new structures, which in turn underwent further translation, gradually moving away from their origin.

Some of the frames describe how the computer models were created by transforming the painting. The different models were combined at various scales to create fields and environments, which became the location for further frame sequences simulating scenes from movies and comic books. The frames were then combined in a temporal collage; the story-board for a nonlinear, non-narrative silent movie. site 3 The graphic novel or comic strip, a mock pejorative, combines the rendered simulation of space with a cinematic experience of time. The transience of the comic book presents a foil to a traditional architecture.
